This wooden Mezuzah is brightly colored and features a beautiful illustration of the walls and arches of the holy city of Jerusalem, the city of gold, in blue .
The mezuzah is hand painted using acrylic colors and then lacquered to ensure that the color is retained.
At the top, the letter ש(shin) that stands for “Shaddai,” one of the biblical names of God, also serves here as an acronym for Shomer Daltot Yisrael, “Guardian of Israel’s doors”
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio.
